i don't know about you guys... but i was not really sure of the tone of the movie or what audience it was pitching at until we get to the party and we get the first "boob shot" (Martha coolidge had to agree to the producers she would put 4 boob shots in the film) and Randy says his first F***!!!!! kinda added a new level of interest for me...
Yes, indeed, Lula! I think, that, what we see from Tommy in the shoppingmall-scene at first, starts to developing during the party. And, of course! With that gorgeous look from his eyes on the party, I think makes Tommy more and more hate Randy, that accumulates in punching Randy and try to start a fight, that ended with the sacking of Randy and Fred.

When I first saw the movie, and the first "boob-scene" appeared, I was a little irritated, but, as it is a party, and the teens like to try those things out, it was totally fitting.

yes! and then...Randy turns the car around and goes back to the party...and climbs through the window how much more romeo could you get than that!!!
apparetnly all those shots of randy hiding behind the shower screen in the bathroom..as the sex drugs and rock and roll took place with people coming in and out the bathroom while he hid and waited for julie ...they were improvised, all those facal expressions...such awesome acting from Nic!
Really? I didn`t know, that they was improvised, Lula! But, it make sense, because his reactions on the partygoers, that come into the bathroom is really hilarious! :)

agree with you Lady A, the boob shots didn't seem necessary and i was even more irritated when i read they were a reqirement from the producers. it makes it seem staged.
it is..totally hilarious! each time peeking over to see if it is julie coming in the door! having to endure all those other teenage happenings!! lol!!!!! then finally it is her.....
and more of that intensity
"Where are we gonna go?" "I don't care." "What are we gonna do?" "Anything."
and goofiness..
the tiny peck on the cheek, the boyish grin as he leaves through the window...
