Wow, thanks for the education in country music you guys, it's unexplored territory for me!flowerface

Here's a couple of artists I admire, Amy Winehouse and John Mayer. I guess you could call these both quite bluesy songs, talented, moving. sing.gif

Some Unholy War a cool performance from Amy Winehouse:

A favourite song from John Mayer, Gravity:

I really admire singer songwriters, all that talent in one package. And it is more meaningful for me to hear someone interpret their own words. I especially love Joni Mitchell, she is nonpareil in my eyes. Now that autumn is here and winter fast approaching I have been listening to this song a lot. A favourite of mine. Hard to believe this clip is from 1966 or thereabouts.

TWO PRINCES by The Spin Doctors

One, two princes kneel before you
That what I said now
Princes, princes who adore you
Just go ahead now
One has diamonds in his pockets
That's some bread, now
This one said he wants to buy you rockets
Ain't in his head, now

This one he got a princely racket
That's what I said now
Got some Big Seal upon his jacket
Ain't in his head now
You marry him, your father will condone you
How 'bout that now
You marry me, your father will disown you
He'll eat his hat, now

Marry him, marry me
I'm the one that loved you baby can't you see?
Ain't got no future or family tree
But I know what a prince and lover ought to be
I know what a prince and lover ought be

Said if you want to call me baby
Just go ahead now
And if you like to tell me maybe
Just go ahead now
And if you wanted to buy me flowers
Just go ahead now
And if you like to talk for hours
Just go ahead now

Said one, two princes kneel before you
That what I said now
Princes, princes who adore you
Just go ahead now
One has diamonds in his pockets
That's some bread, now
This one said he wants to buy you rockets
Ain't in his head, now
( From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/s/spin-doctors-lyrics/two-princes-lyrics.html )

Marry him, marry me
I'm the one that loved you baby can't you see?
Ain't got no future or family tree
But I know what a prince and lover ought to be
I know what a prince and lover ought be

Said if you want to call me baby
Just go ahead now
And if you like to tell me maybe
Just go ahead now
And if you wanted to buy me flowers
Just go ahead now
And if you like to talk for hours
Just go ahead now
And if you want to call me baby
Just go ahead now
And if you like to tell me maybe
Just go ahead now
And if you like to buy me flowers
Just go ahead now
And if you like to talk for hours
Just go ahead now
If you want to call me baby
Just go ahead now
And if you like to tell me maybe
Just go ahead now
If you want to buy me flowers
Just go ahead now
And if you like to talk for hours
Just go ahead now
Oh Baby!
Just go ahead now
Oh!
Just just go ahead now
Oh, your majesty!
Just go ahead now
Come on forget the King who... marry me!
Just go ahead now
Come on, come on, come on
Just go ahead now
Go ahead now
Just go ahead now, etc.

The Furtado song seriously hits too close to home for me.........it's such a sad song.....
It's horrible that people have to feel like this at times in their life, ya know?   Thanks for posting it Kelsey

"All Good Things (Come To An End)"

Honestly what will become of me
don't like reality
It's way too clear to me
But really life is dandy
We are what we don't see
Missed everything daydreaming

[Chorus:]
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to end?
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to an end?

Traveling I only stop at exits
Wondering if I'll stay
Young and restless
Living this way I stress less
I want to pull away when the dream dies
The pain sets in and I don't cry
I only feel gravity and I wonder why

Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to end?
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to an end?

Well the dogs were whistling a new tune
Barking at the new moon
Hoping it would come soon so that they could
Dogs were whistling a new tune
Barking at the new moon
Hoping it would come soon so that they could
Die die die die die

Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to end?
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to an end?

Well the dogs were barking at a new moon
Whistling a new tune
Hoping it would come soon
And the sun was wondering if it should stay away for a day 'til the feeling went away
And the sky was falling on the clouds were dropping and
the rain forgot how to bring salvation
the dogs were barking at the new moon
Whistling a new tune
Hoping it would come soon so that they could die.

Great song Kelsey.  Don't think I've heard it before.  But it rings so true.   Here are the lyrics....

Guess we've been talking too long
We know what we need
Separately

You say the honeymoon's over
I don't wanna push
But what about us?

It's ringing in my head
It's not what you say
It's what you haven't said

So What about us?
What about love?
What about saying
That we'll never give up?
Don't wanna blame ya,
We're in danger
So what about us?

Guess we've been trying too hard
We misunderstood
What's good for us
I'm tired emotionally inside
Night after night,
We fight till we cry

I don't know what's wrong or right
Is every word you say
What's really on your mind?

So what about us?
What about love?
What about saying
That we'll never give up?
Don't wanna blame ya
We're in danger
So what about us?

When we love,we lie
When we talk,we hide
Maybe I'm searching blind
I'm worn out,
Confused
What are we to you?
What are we doin'?
What are we doin'?

What about us?
What about love?
What about saying
That we'll never give up?
Don't wanna blame ya
But we're in danger

So what about us?
What about love?
That's the one thing we never discuss
Don't wanna blame ya
But we're in danger
What about us?

Yeah, she does sound  like Pink, kelsey, she has a pretty good voice. Hard to believe that is little Cindy Lou from How The Grinch Stole Christmas! She is an American actress, gets in the gossip columns a lot. They have this song on the Kick Ass soundtrack, it was played in the closing credits.
