If at first you don't succeed...hire talented actors.
Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor (Crank) are out shooting Ghost Rider 2: Spirit of Vengeance, the sequel to the maligned Marvel movie Ghost Rider, and according to Heat Vision, have picked up some caliber actors to star alongside the hot-headed Nic Cage.
Ciaran Hinds, who protrayed Julias Cesear on HBO's Rome and will appear as Aberforth Dumbledore in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, will battle Ghost Rider as The Devil, who is looking to inhabit his mortal son's body. Why you'd want to live on Earth instead of rule Hell is anyone's guess.
Violante Placido, who starred opposite George Clooney in The American, plays the mother of said Satan's child. If only Ruth Gordon was alive to appear as a kind old caretaker to Hinds, we'd have a great action-version of Rosemary's Baby on our hands. Oh well.
Only little details have leaked on the plot for Ghost Rider 2, but as long as Neveldine and Taylor wrangle Cage and amp up the action, they'll have us in the seats again. C'mon guys, wash Gamer from my memory banks!
