Woo hoo I just saw the official english trailer is up. This is the best one yet, and I made it all the way into the trailer and not just half my head like in the Russian and subtitled cut.
I was fat back then (october 2011 when they shot that scene)....I've lost 25 pounds since then lol....I don't realize the difference until I see a picture.
I had a lot of fun being on the set even if it was only as an extra and sometimes I was just a car, which is fun too since you have nothing to do but wait until you need to move the car, it allows you to see alot of the behind the scenes production stuff since your just standing around and don't have to hang with the extras in the holding room/tent.
I did get to chat with several of the actors since all they do between scenes is sit around and wait. The big stars like Cusak and Cage didn't hang around the set between scenes, or if they did they were not chatty with the crew/extras, but some of the lesser stars like Michael McGrady just stayed on set for hours waiting for their scene and were very nice people. Vanessa Hudgins even stayed on set with her mom and sister, and even said Hi to me at the food table. The Director Mr. Walker was even a nice guy. I tried to let him go in front of me in line at the dinner tent one night since he was eating way later than every one else (directors and actors eat first, followed by the crew and then the production assisants, and then extras. The crew even eats in a certain order by union position, it's crazy) and he refused and said go ahead.
I find it amazing that they shoot for 8 hours and get about 5 minutes of movie. So even though I was there for about a week of shooting I probably only saw about 15 minutes of the movie being shot.
I hope the movie doesn't suck, and I admit if I wasn't there for a small part of the filming I probably wouldn't normally watch this type of movie, I'm not typically a thriller type of movie watcher. but since I know what the plot is and know what the directors' take on the movie is, and even who dies in the movie it'll be fun to watch it and go oh yea I remember that scene, and to be on the lookout for me and my car in the movie. If you payattention you may notice they recycle the cars and the extras alot in this film. As it got colder fewer old cars would risk driving in the snow, since a wrecked 65 mustang would be no fun. I actually bought a set of used snow tires so I keep showing up when they asked me to since my car never goes in the snow...It doesn't pay well but I'm not in it for the money, I'm just there to do something fun. I hope we can get more big movies up here, and if we do I'm on the extras list now so I'll hopefully get called.
It does sound like fun, Frozen Extra, I think I would give it a go if the opportunity arose. I think being an actor sounds quite boring for a lot of the day, but I suppose they study their lines and rest in between takes. I'll be looking for you on the big screen if it ever gets to theatres here!

And most any Alaskan will tell you that the background in this shot is different than the background of where Hansen's Bakery used to be, which is why I eat this stuff up with a spoon!
