So i thought about his upcoming movie projects and here are my thoughts:

Of course after all movies being released we have yet to see STOLEN wich comes in a few weeks. followed by THE FROZEN GROUND. No one knows if the release date on imdb is correct but i dont think it will take to long. Then we also have THE CROODS wich is coming next years but thats "just" voice acting.

But then there´s this big lack of movies wich are in production. first of all there are these open rumors you heare from time to time about. Like TESLA with Christian Bale. It never got into any serious production infos we only hear the rumor. Just like movies like DARK HIGHWAY and THE QUIET ONES.

IMDB still shows BLACK BUTTERFLY in the in developement section but as we heard he wont do that role. Also in this list there is THE COURTSHIP OF EDDIE´S FATHER wich is listed for years now. I cant find any article about that and dont know what its about.

We often heard about a 3rd part of NATIONAL TREASURE, but no news about that for the last year, i dont think sadly that this will hapen. KICK ASS 2 is set for next year just like THE EXPENDABLES 3 wich i think both will happen. I think we have good chances that he gets involved in both.FRANC OR FRANCIS wont probably happen that soon, maybe never hard to say. We have another rumor named TOKAREV in the style of seeking justice/stolen. I dont think this will happen either. as if that not enough we have two more movies. the first one is WILD SIDE wich is set for a production begining of the last july somehow. i think thats the only one we can say he´ll be doing for sure. they should be starting to film in the next time. The last one is MARBLE CITY. seems like he´s doing that too. we havnt heard any updates about the production which is strange enough.

Those are really good thoughts, Flo! I think, as IMdB isn`t that reliable per se, when it comes to updates and confirmed infos about new movie-projects, we just have to wait and see, which of them will be actually happen!

Wow, thanks Flo for making this little sketchual (or however I have to spell it)!

Interesting to see, I think it is cool he will be up for the expendables 3, and glad that Stolen is comming more near and near.

I've seen on imdb national treasure 3, and I really wish it would happen but I indeed think too that is sadly won't. But let's hope!:)

You even name movies I had never heared about, and I didn't know he will (if he does) a voice in the croods, I did know it was on his list.

Agree with you about the Tesla project, Dark Highway and The Quiet ones. Sadly they seem to be rumours, alhtough all three of these projects REALLY grab me.

I am still holding out hope for National Treasure 3 and need to hear confirmation of Kick Ass 2 because despite it being written about all over the place with Nic's name attached,  there still has been no official world.

Yes Wild Side and Marble City are strange ones, oddly quiet, especially Wild Side which as you say is meant to have begun production! action

Amid the ambiguity some things are very definite though, Nic seems to be in a thriller phase, is still highly sought after by directors, and as an actor he is keeping up his outstanding momentum, which make him the most enduringly successful actor of the generation. starry

Good summation, Flo! It gets confusing with all these rumours about. If Nic did all the movies they say he is involved in he would never be off the silver screen!

I am curious about the Wild Side, too.

Another new movie in talks are "Lost Melody" with Director Terry Zwigoff (Bad Santa, Ghost World), sounds almost like gritty version of Pretty Woman  http://www.orlandosentinel.com/entertainment/sns-rt-us-nicolascage-lostmelody-20130702,0,3441316.story

I went through all of the rumoured films we have posted about here and this is the list I came up with, it is quite some list too! (Note: This post is updated regularly.)

Five Minutes to Live (only found listed on IMDb)

Saffron Skies

Men With No Fear

National Treasure 3 (always being talked about but never anything official)

Frank or Francis (was announced, but seems uncertain due to funding)

Bad Monday

Action No. 1 ( the possibility of Nic playing himself! )

Lost Melody

Paradise City ( previously Marble City )

Fighting Back

Wild Side

Dark Highway

Tesla, Ruler of the World ( this one sounded highly doubtful )

An unnamed Charlie Sheen collaboration ( I think that was only Charlie Sheen fantasizing )

The Expendables 3, Black Butterfly, The Quiet Ones and I Am Wrath have definitely been ruled out, either by Nic himself or official announcements.

Has anybody heard anything I have missed that makes any of these rumours true or false?

I am saddened to see no Frank or Francis and I thought Wild Side was just a fake poster that has Lord of War imagery on it. I also thought Bad Monday was the Action No. 1 film.

Hi Enzo, thanks for replying.

I didn't include Frank or Francis because we have it listed as confirmed in our Filmography. Although I do wonder now if that shoud be changed back to rumour, since the last we heard it was a funding problem, who knows if it will ever happen.

Here is the thread on Bad Monday, which I haven't heard anything about since. Another action/thriller if it happens, which will disappoint you. Different from Action # 1.

Oh, Lady T, chortle I'm not against Action/thrillers rolllaugh you're not going to hold that against me for the rest of my days are you? rolllaughBut yes that's the topic I remember 'Nicolas Cage to have a bad Monday' thanks for showing it again. 

Thats a load of rubbish, I can't believe they won't fund that movie, it's still listed on Nicolas Cage's Rotten Tomatoes page, so who knows?
