I am guessing if they do flashbacks they would be a younger actress playing Hit Girl in those segments?? Great news though that he is likely to be in it. Looking forward to it!

Well, nobody does balls to the wall quite like Nic, so I hope Big Daddy gets the opportunity in this film to go full throttle again!

I am reading lots about the other actore being confirmed for Kick Ass 2, but nothing yet that indicates Nic has even been officially offered the role. Let's hope the offer has at least been made, and if it doesn't transpire, it will be because Nic decides not to do it. Persaonally I feel that the with general vibe around Nic and that stereotype of his kookiness , the movie makers would be missing a trick not to bring him in for some cameos.

Very good point Johnny! you are so right, Chloe Moretz is a brill actress but there is no way she could transform herself to look the way she did for the first movie. This adds to my argument that Nics cameos (yes plural) should not be flashbacks, but present day visitations from The Ghost of Big Daddy ! ghost

the manner of his death and his protective instinct for his daughter are enough to keep his spirit close to earth. heck the baddies could even  try to get an exorcist in to make him pass over..because he keeps helping Hit Girl.

He appears in times of dire need for Hit Girl..she is about to get got by the baddies, something unexplainable comes from nowhere and saves her......what is it? it's the GHOST OF BIG DADDY!!!!

This is working for me!!!!!!!! action MR MILLAR DO YOU READ ME?!

I had an idea but I don't know if it would wash since it is not part of the comic book story line. Still, comic book stories can be adapted in movies, happens all the time.

What if Big Daddy really didn't die, but was taken away to a hospital by the police where he recovered,  with terrible burn scars, of course. Only his friend would know, as he would beg him not to tell in hopes of Hit Girl having a normal life. But he would monitor and help her, and she would suspect, and in the end maybe a reunion. Classic story line, I can see it!

wow..I can see this too Lady True!

So he remains in the background and intervenes in 'invisible' ways to help Hitgirl! this would also retrospectively soften the impact of that horrific scene where Hit Girl, and  we, lost Big Daddy

There has to be a reunion in the end though...just to see Nic in his Big Daddy costume again!

It would be truly marvelous if it were to be the case! ghost but with these latest articles about the casting of John Leguizamo (there are  few) i see the same as the ones we posted earlier, a generic mention of Nic, which both Mark Millar and Nic's reps pointed out were just rumors.

Also only last week at the Giffoni Film Fest Nic himself mentioned he was to going to do anymore superhero rmovies, but i guess Kick Ass may be described as a deconstruction of the superhero genre so there is still hope! action

I think it would not count as a super-hero movie, since they are real people with no special powers. At least that is what I wish to think, since I would love to see Nic in Kick Ass 2! But so many rumours about projects abound, it is best just to wait and see, I suppose.

I am going to see it that way too Lady T!

Nic's name is still being added to articles about the film, like this one with a synopsis and first banner!

Plot Details: Dave’s identity as ‘Kick-Ass’ is only really revealed to the one extra person, but it’s someone important. And it has repercussions. Hit-Girl’s identity is also widely known by this point – and it evokes much nasty yabbering behind Mindy’s back by her schoolmates (she’s nicknamed ‘Captain Muffin-Muncher’). The worst of the mean girls, Brooke, is your typical prissy jock-marrying wannabe who controls the thoughts and feelings of her teenage followers and disciples (including innocent young Lois, whom ultimately forms a bond with Mindy). But ‘Hit-Girl’, never one to shy away from a confrontation and seemingly always equipped with the perfect weapon of self defense, gets Brooke and her bitch gang back in… let’s say, rather spectacular fashion. It involves gadgetry, projectile vomiting and much begging. There will be so much cheering in the cinema. ~ Moviehole

If it transpires that Nic is not going to appear in the film in a cameo, the very least I would hope for is another animated segemnt in the movie with a large homage to his character!

Just me, or does this sound more hopeful?!!!!

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/hollywood-stars-london-brad-pitt-penelope-cruz-chris-pine-359975

Why A-List Hollywood Went to London -- and Skipped the Olympics

Government-backed agency Film London listed the names at an evening event co-hosted with the mayor of London and London and Partners against the backdrop of the "Designing 007: Fifty Years of Bond Style," an exhibition which celebrates one of London’s most famous film exports, James Bond.

Film London chief executive Adrian Wootton listed Fast and Furious 6Ridley Scott’s The CounselorKenneth Branagh’s Jack Ryan and Kick-Ass 2 as among the high-profile titles filming or set to shoot in and around the British capital.

According to Wootton and his team, Fast and Furious 6 starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson began shooting here last week.

Producer Neal H. Moritz, whose credits include the successful The Fast & The Furious franchise, The Green Hornetand Jack the Giant Killer (also partly London-shot), attended the evening event to outline some of the ambitious and dramatic set pieces taking in iconic London locations including King's Cross, Wembley and Canary Wharf.

“We’re excited to bring the next chapter of The Fast & The Furious franchise to one of the world’s most amazing cities,” said Moritz. “The locations that are available only in London play an integral part of our story, and we’re grateful to the people of the city for welcoming the production as we film here.”

Scott is also in London in production on The Counselor, with Pitt, Fassbender, Cruz, Diaz and Bardem.

Film London has been supporting the film which is shooting in the capital during the Olympics Games.

Executive producer Mark Huffam (Prometheus) said: “Film London’s support has been invaluable in our negotiations with landmark locations in the capital and we are grateful for their assistance in ensuring the smooth running of the shoot during the Olympic Games.”

Following his performance in the Opening ceremony of the Games, Branagh will be in the capital to direct Jack Ryan, which stars Pine (Star Trek) in the thriller being produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mace Neufeld.

And cast members Johnson, Moretz and Cage are also set to reunite for Kick-Ass 2, the sequel to Kick Ass, which will begin shooting in the capital later this year.

Harry Potter franchise cast member Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) and Josh Berger, president and managing director of Warner Bros. UK, Ireland and Spain, also rocked up at the event to trumpet the experience of filming in London, and about the studio’s permanent production base, Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden,

home to all eight Harry Potter films, and the capital’s newest tourist attraction, Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter.

Mayor of London Boris Johnson, taking a break from the Olympics and tweeting about British athletic success said: "London has an incomparable film heritage -- from Hitchc*** to Harry Pottervia Hammer and Harold Shand, this city has been home to some of the greatest and most beloved films of all time. And thanks to the unique opportunities for film-makers, including a world-class roster of talent in front of and behind the camera, and amazing locations that are recognisable the world over, we are delighted that more and more productions are deciding to set up shop in London."

The mayor also noted the film industry in and around London supports 70,000 jobs and generates nearly £1 billion ($1.56 bilion) of spending each year, "providing a fantastic boost to our economy."

Wootton said: "With the success of the Olympics we have an incredible platform to build on and Film London is working to ensure we keep the momentum up and continue to drive vital investment into the UK, through film and TV production."

Other films also in various stages of production in Blighty include Maleficent starring Angelina Jolie based in Pinewood Studios and Richard Curtis’ About Time, starring Rachel McAdamsand Domhnall Gleeson.

Dom Hemingway, starring Jude Law and Richard E. Grant, is also one of several other big budget films in pre production.
