Hey fellow Nic fans. I have been away for a while dealing with typical life issues. I saw Ghost Rider: SOV and I enjoyed it and I loved how Nic pulled from other films like BL:POCNO.....pretty hilarious. Anyway, I really want Nic to partake in doing more comedies like he used to and I think a raunchy R rated comedy would do him wonders. I think films like Hot Time Machine did John Cusack good and so did Tropic Thunder for RD JR.  Anyway, I was wondering how the rest of my fellow Nic fans felt about Nicolas endulging in the Comedy genre again. Later, CLC.

Hi clc, great news that you have seen and enjoyed Spirit of Vengeance, if you care to read some other members' views on the film and share yours, you may wish to check out this topic: http://www.cagealotcastle.com/t47874315/post-your-ghost-rider-spirit-of-vengeance-reviews-here/

yep we have discussed it s few times lately that seeing a Nic comedy would be timely, for me personally, the thing that appeals to me aout Nic as an actor is he never does anything straight up he straddles genres in the same movie, you could argue there are comedic elements in many of his movies, there was a dark humour in GR:SOV for example. But, we do have Frank Or Francis on thehorizon which is billed as a musical satire, do you think that may scratch your comedy itch? I personaly can't wait..the premise excites me! actiondirector

I agree, Lula, there is almost always comedy in Nic's movies, and I am looking forward to Frank/Francis, I believe it will be my kind of movie. I enjoy Nic in any kind of movie, clcdmb.

Hi clc, Lula, and Lady Trueheart,
I agree with you about having Nick doing more comedy again in his movies. Although, he has many funny things happened in him movies like Lady Trueheart said. I too, will love to see Frank/Francis when that comes out. It's so different for Nick to do with this type of movie too. He ROCKS!
Sorry, to say I had not seen Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance yet. I hope to soon. My movie house is not playing it and I have no other place to go. I do hope to see Sweet Justice when that comes out next month. That I seen some trailers and boy, that look so good. Action besides thriller.

Thanks for all the great feedback fellow Nicfans. I agree that Nic does have elements of comedy in most of his films lately, but that also irks me to a degree. Lula, I do agree that Nic crosses genres in almost every film and bluring the character arc in a lot of films he does. I would love to see Nic play a role straight up like in LLV or Weather Man or 8mm. I think he uses too many of his past roles as a crutch in some of his recent films like GR:SOV. I would like to see him go back to full on method acting and do more comedies since I think these thrillers are going to run their course by years end. I will forever be a fan of Nic and he is my favorite actor, but I am turning toward Ryan Gosling as my current favorite actor right now. Check out Lars and the Real girl or Half Nelson or Drive if any of you Nic fans want to see Ryan Gosling. He reminds me of a young Nicolas Cage. Hope Nicolas has a great 2012. CLC....

It's good to see Nic in comedy films. And I love the way he smiles and brings sex appeal not only because of his voice but the way his eyes are staring at the camera. I love blue eyes!! =))

I agree clcdmb, I've been saying it for over a year!  I would love to see Nic in a comedy.  I think it'll certainly lighten things up a bit but.

But, not just a movie with comedy elements, but a true comedy.  He is frickin' brilliant!!!  And how insanely awesome would it be to see Nic add his Nouveau Shamanic style of thespianess to a comedy - any kind of comedy, be it action/adventure, romantic, or even a dramedy!

I love how Nic brings that oh, so desirable sex appeal, charm, and cinematic genius!

I am glad you agree with my premice that Nic should do more comedies. I am hopeful that Frank or Francis does re-establish Nicolas as a jack of all films actor as he is and will forever be, but musicals aren't my cup O' tea so I will have a wait and see approach. I wish the aforementioned title was a slap stick or over the top comedy instead, but the l script is set in stone. I also feel that aside from BL:POCNO and Knowing, that Nic has had a rough patch from 2006 to present. I know his financial status is forbidden to be brought up, but it does play a role in what films he takes on. I look forward to the day when Nic can focus on indy films, comedies, dramas and directing instead of always playing the hero in thrillers. I think if Nic played a real wide eyed- crazy baddie would also help him. Or even more supporting work like Tom Cruise did in Tropic Thunder. I think Nic could take supporting roles and check his ego at the door at times. I love Nic and he is my all time favorite actor, but he is reaching 50 yrs old with almost 30 yrs of acting under his belt as a LEAD ACTOR. Nic is at his finest with co stars that are of his caliber of acting and he shows how dynamic his acting is when with a great ensamble. I am done rambling.....I just have a passion for Nic and want him to be looked at highly again in they eyes of Hollywood and the general public again. Another Oscar nod would help....for Best Supporting Actor in Frank or Francis will do just fine for me. Late CLC
