But it never came to fruition, which is why it was so cool that Nic and 50 Cent finally got to work together in 'Frozen Ground'. So I was ultra intrigued to read this today in the intro to an interview with Mona Scott Young:
"Between working on films with 50 Cent and Nicholas Cage (The Dance), multi-media’s mogul-on-the rise is now busy managing the lives of VH1′s most watched reality series for the season"
Yes, I thought that something like had that probably happened too Lady T, but this interview is recent..and why mention it then? Maybe she worked on Frozen Ground with them and the interviewer got muddled? who knows! It just stood out for me! In my imagination, this is a film that is happening and we are soon to hear about it!
In the first link about the movie it says that:...'Cage is co-producing the film with Violator Management's Chris Lighty and Mona Scott, whose firm represents 50 Cent as well as Missy Elliott and Oscar winners Three 6 Mafia.'
If she is still representing 50 Cent she would have been involved with The Frozen Ground I guess, since he produced it, didn't he?
Iwonder what ever happened, it sounds like a very good movie idea, and I would love to see Nic in that role. Maybe it is still viable, Lula!
We can but hope Lady T! I think Nic was really passionate about the project at the time! Maybe we will never know!
Yes, as I understand it 50 Cent is one of a long list of producers on The Frozen Ground (for some reason i have been calling it just 'Frozen Ground', not sure which one is correct though!) film, but not the exec producer.
Mona Scott is huge in the Hip Hop world in terms of managing artists. I think though, the writer may have been pointing out that Mona was involved with the initial negotiations of the project, The Dance, which later fell thru. But I don't believe Mona was involved with The Frozen Ground project. What's exciting though is the fact that 50 Cent did get a chance to finally work with Nic. I love it when Nic is paired with Hip Hop artists! It makes for such a cool contrast!
Gone in Sixty Seconds - Master P
The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans - Xzibit
I read it to mean now Gina, but I guess the wording could be interpreted a number of ways!! either way, i totally agree that it is epic news 50 cent and Nic are appearing together finally, in Frozen Ground. Good point about the hip hop artists he has worked with! Nic has got a bit of a hip hop soul I think, in that maverick kind of a way, notorious N.I.C!!!
