Hey fellow Nic fans.....just went to imdb.com and noticed that Medallion is now being called Stolen. Yet another name change to an upcoming Nicolas film. Not sure how I feel but the titles like Justice and Stolen have a generic tone. Not to say the movies are not going to be awesome but I prefer more interesting titles I suppose. CLC

That`s really strange! Just saw it, too! I don`t understand, why are they doing this? And, I am asking myself, who decides on the namechanges? cry

At least somebody agrees with me....sheesh! The one word titles of Trespass, Justice and Stolen just sound so lame and b movie to me. I know I have been criticle of Nic and his film choices lately, but these name changes of his characters and film titles need to be more concrete. Oh well, just think the producers and directors need to have a better grasp of what they are doing and stick with it. It isn't Nic's fault but I am just saying. CLC

I know exactly, what you mean, clc! Of course, it isn`t Nics fault, but I also think, that getting mad or angry about those stupid changes, doesn`t make it better or change that! But, those things can be getting really nerv-wrecking!

Excuse my words please but thats pretty f***ed up!

I dont know much about the process of making a moive but i thnk if you say the title of a movie you should be sure how you call it.
a problem could be the production companys the last nic films had. for example filmnation and endgame entertainment are pretty bad and i have some problems with millenium too. i cant say so much about stolen because all we know are some story details and some photos. but i do know a bit more about justice. every review i read about it sayid that the original title is stupid. but i loved the hungry rabbit jumps name! i think it was the chinese version who had the tagline They sow the wind and reap the whirlwind. that would have been pretty awesome if that would be in the original version.

movie titles like (seeking)justice and stolen are very unoriginal and dont give the viewers much interest to watch the movies.

There is no accounting for what the film distributors will do, it does not ever seem to be about art. But it seems to me that 'Stolen' sounds a lot like 'Taken', a movie which has a somewhat similar theme, and was a hit. Maybe they are hoping to capitalize on that trend.

I think most people won't even notice, it is just people like us who follow the news of Nic's movies or film fanatics in general who take note of such things.  I could go watch a movie with Mat Damon or anyone else today and I wouldn't know the evolution of that film, or care, really.

I do wish they had kept Hungry Rabbit Jumps though, especially now that I have read the significance of the name.

Thanks for the update clc! here's the IMdB page link, maybe we should post it if we are going to mention it!

Stolen (2012)

Action   -  2012 (USA)
(voting begins after release)

A former thief frantically searches for his missing daughter, who has been kidnapped and locked in the trunk of a taxi.

Director:

Simon West

Stars:

I have to agree with you all on this, for me name's like 'Hungry Rabbit Jumps' and 'Medallion' have a kind of specificity to them that is compelling, unique and catchy. 'Justice' and 'Stolen' are far more generic, and the don't grab me as much.
I agree with your well made point Lady T, it is perhaps is a reflection of a trend and a signifier for the kind of movie.
We obviously do not know the ins and outs of it and probably never will, so this is pure speculation on my part, but there is a sadness foe me that the movie doesnt ultimately get released as it was written, and created by the director , because presumably this change is way after that process and more to do with production and distribution. for me it is a great reminder that making films is ultimately a material and commercial  process and not related to art.
However....we have not heard a single thing about this movie since it went into post production....atleast this is an indicator that stuff is about to happen with the film and it has a distributor? flowerface

Yea, I read this.. I also don't like how they changed the movie title.. I still hope this movie would get better reviews than "Trespass". but "Justice" I think it had mixed reviews, but most of what I read were positive ones..

Infact, I agree with Lady Trueheart that not many people will notice the change unless they are some real movie followers! and Let's just hope the name "Stolen" would be a better choice, we still don't know all about the movie, only the plot line available is not enough to figure out if the name is suitable or not..
