What could be a better way to celebrate today's full moon than with the glorious love story between Ronnie and Loretta in Moonstruck set against the exquisite backdrop of these beautiful heart rending, tender and extraordinarily epic acts from the Puccini opera, La Boheme!

HAPPY FULL MOON!

enjoy!

with thanks to artskymusic!

Us Cage fans know that Nic is an avid fan of classical music.  In filming Moonstruck, I wonder if the director made that connection with Nic personally in portraying him as a tough Italian with a love for opera and classical music?

Interesting Gina...Cher said in the dvd audio commentary that Nic and the drector knew opera really well and seh didn't, but If so I should imagine only retrospectively would Norman Jewison have mae that connection because he was actually trying other actors for the part, and unltiamtely it was an ultimatum from Cher that got Nic the role. I know i a m biased but i really cannot imagine any other actor than Nic  in the role of Ronnie, or bringing such richness, such kooky energy and tormented passion to the part..can you? starry

Yes Lula, I quite agree with you!  Oh, and Yes, I knew that the director wanted another, other than Nic for the part though, once he or rather CHER decided it would be Nic, it's so interesting how they made opera fit so well into a truly rough-around-the-edges movie.  Brilliant!
