A lovely tribute to a great actor, Lula, and the you-tube tribute video is very nice too. It has inspired me to seek out some of his movies, especially the John Cassavetes ones, I haven't seen them in years. Also Wings of Desire, I really want to see that one.

I was and am a huge Columbo fan, I love those tv movies, and have watched them many times. That was quality television. In the days they were first shown you waited impatiently for Columbo nights,  they alternated with other tv movies. MacMillan and Wife and MacLeod  had their charm but none compared to Columbo! I kind of had a crush on him all those years ago, I loved his rumpled eccentric look, and still do. What a guy, and by what I have read he had a good and fulfilling life too.

And yes! watching Next, a good way to remember such a class act.

"You make a dark line. You make a light line. Together it's a good line."

Ah such a touching reverence for the good things in life, this scene.

Thanks for posting this Sprocket....I guess most people connect him with his Columbo role, he was amazing in Wings Of Desire.....perhaps Nic has made his own homage with 'City Of Angels'

( P.s i fixed your embed, the forum seems only to like the full link! )
