not to mention suspenseful and spooky too Lady T! The more I think about it, the foundation of the Season Of The Witch story is romantic and heroic in the classic knightly way, but because of the supernatural element, it becomes more multilayered. it also has that quest adventure buddy feel to it too.
and ooooh I 100% agree, it would make an excellent graphic novel, you can see the beginning battle scenes illustrated, the moment when everything turns for Behmen, that look Behmen gives at the dissertion, the plague ridden house, Behmen masked and his sword crest revealed after dropping to the floor...and so on...what a wonderful notion Lady T!
Absolutely. This storyline has got backwards & foreward possibilites! I wanted him to come back to life & follow them out--- He could, even though it was an honorable end, for his character to show up in the shadows would not even suprise me.
mmm 'young knights, wise maidens and the sword of truth' you are speaking my language Lady Lavish and it feels familiar...
Yes, backwards would be so interesting too...imagine the adventures Behmen and Felson would have had!
And in terms of a continuation story...it would not be out of the ordinary for either Nic or the film for him to return in spirit....he just played a Ghost of sorts in Drive Angry.
Maybe the Girl could, (I hate calling her that, was she ever given a name other then "the witch" or "the Girl" though?) forever indebted to Behmen and aware that his heroism ultimately changed the course of history, embark on her own crusade of sorts, with Behmen appearing as her guide!
Oh yes! she does, when she is trying to find a way to show her gratitude...was it Anna?! I am thinking that because she reminds me of my friend Anna and there was some connection with that for me if i remember..but i could be competely wrong!
This thread has had me thinking about the film alot..and I must say...
Spoiler
didn't Nic do a superb job as a dying Behmen? I was in tears!
I do not believe it is Anna, but may be wrong, it feels like it is just on the tip of my tongue, lol! I think it was a name that is not a usual name, and now I feel like I must know!
As to your spoiler, totally agree, I was the same as you, Lula!
Yes! Those morning stars visable above the treeline, he speaks to her, perhaps, a realization of sacrifice and long lasting love gives her a purpose, with confidence. Her knightly companion itching for excitement....A gift lingers w/ her, overcoming language barriers, and her new found desires of replacing what was lost, gets her in trouble often enough.
She has to be rescued, but, is never discouraged from telling a story that has to be told. These fearless people are adventursome to many landscapes, and are rejoined by a timely advisor-- An experienced knight, with many tales. She can hear him, we can see the stories.
Stoke up the fire. Its easy to imagine. W/ her skill, she can even talk to the animals, it seems to be quite intriguing.
Thanks for the repsonse and enthusiasm. Anyway, long or short, an on going reference persists.
And Nikx charactr in the movie, has a friend. I see a future for him, as returning "home", only, sadly, nothing is left. He encounters our charactors, by purpose of destination in his heart. He must help those his friend felt desrvd his life.
Its lonely w/out his bestfriend--he's got to have something real, again.
When He comes upon them--Its a mighty battle, reminiscent...
I am enjoying the fruit of your imagination greatly Lady Lavish.....thank you... Behmen's companion is Felson, is that who you mean? he also met the same fate... however, we may soon have more for our imaginations to play with, in the form of an alternate ending! checkthisout >> http://cagealotcastle.activeboard.com/forum.spark?aBID=136656&p=3&topicID=41270979
What ever the case is, the importantance of establishing a real tale in fiction is vital. For instance- a good knight wouldn't want to do anything which is evil.
"Anna", believes anything is possible- & will work for good.
But, havin a reputation as That Witch is nearly fatal for her, when recognized.
Season of the Witch is a great movie. A young, teenage movie, or late nite drama.
If it moves fast- thats for kids or gets slow, as I wish it would-- to build the drama & suspense, like old classics w/ mystery,
I'm glad Nick made it, like all his work, I am truly grateful. Where would I be, w/out Nic Kaaggee?
Honor is one thing, stickin' 2 the truth, another. I would never think adding to this great story is nesescary, or could be popular, but, it sure is fun.
Hi Lady Lavish, you slightly lost me there, which post did you have a bad feeling about?
I found the movie to be really well paced, it moved perfectly and there was never a moment without being completely captivated... and incredibly suspenseful and surprising, enigmatic and ambigious enough in places not to be too prescribed, especially 'the witch" story! the outcome of which pleased me greatly.
Is it Susanna? well remembered! Good point, once labelled a witch with the misperception and prejudice surrounding witches then, she would have a lot to prove to shake off that suspicion...however this would only serve as potent fuel for her future mission....
BUT, My question is...
Spoiler
if the only way there was over the bridge HOW DID THEY GET BACK??!!!
