Was thinking about this and really, who knows what was in the producers and studios minds, but in the movies themselves I see lots of differences. Not least of which, and important to me, is the female portayal. Abigail is a pivotal role, she is strong and intelligent, and doesn't run around the movie screaming contantly. I really love the interplay between Abigail and Ben in the movie, it is smart and sexy. I also think the character of Ben is much different from Indy, Ben is a gentleman, and cares about things. He could have been boring if not for the way Nic approached the role. Instead he is idiosyncratic and a really strong intellectual and physical presence. Indy was, well, Indy!
