You are all so welcome White Fay, Lady Trueheart and Sir Patrick Pickle...... It is a delightful array to have on display on the walls of our castle halls!
My apologies for the missing picture, The Knight errant, he should now appear correctly!
Lol, yes White Fay, it reminded me of your red banner !
Thanks Lula, that is a nice site, beautiful art and inof, and there are some interesing looking links there too. I have always been partial to the Lady of Shalott by Waterhouse, in fact, I think it was my first avatar here!
I would like to re-write the story of the Lady of Shallot: After she has fallen in love with Lancelot and realized that he will not be returning to her country, she vows to pray for his health and happiness for the remainder of her days, and follows tales of his exploits with love and pride in her heart.
The tale of Merlin's downfall is indeed tragic, but I envision a Wizardess coming upon him a few days later, reviving him and nursing him back to health. Then they live simply and happily ever after in a small cottage in the woods by the ocean.
Never accept a tragic or sad ending! There is always a little love and magic if you keep bringing it into the story!
The lady of Shalott is a sad tale, but very moving also. Perhaps it was meant as a a kind of life lesson, like fairy tales. Ladies, don't waste your life pining for what you can't have, and stop sitting around staring in that damn mirror! LOL!
Actually, Lady G, I like your idea of rewriting stories, I have done that in my mind with some too.
I like Michael Parkes too, His work is really interesting. I used one of his pics as an avatar at one time. This one here, I love it.
Dear Lady Grace, thank you so much for your beautiful additions here! And i am completely enchanted with the idea of rewriting the story of The Lady Of Shallot..... I hope with all my heart you do rewrite it one day, but perhaps moreso that she could have rewritten it herself
What amazingly wonderful and magNICal pics! These are really enchanting! Thank you Lady T., Lady Grace and Lula for posting all this magNICal, artistNIC paintings and pics!
