Rumours abound at the moment about potential Nic movies huh?! I even came across an old rumour re-emerging on Twitter yesterday that Nic was to star in a Spielberg remake of 'Old Man'!
It feels to me like Nic is already showing he means what he says on the supernatural movie front... The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Season of The Witch, Drive Angry...
Personally I'd like to see a movie that explodes the myth about all witches being evil...that magic can mean a number of different things including healing....and explores why Wizards are always portrayed as good guys with great intentions (think Balthazar Blake, and Harry Potter's Dumbledore, and for some reason I'm even thinking of Nic's ant wizard, Zoc ) but witches are always up to no good!
Do you mean Old boy? I saw a clip from that and Nic would be great in it, talk about over the top; but Spielberg, I dont know how he would approach that movie.
There aren't a lot of sympathetic witch movies unless they are cutesy like Bewitched, are there? Practical Magic, The Witches of Eastwick, can't even think of many movies at all.
Somebody should do movies of the Avalon series by Marion Zimmer Bradley. Wonder how they would translate to the screen?
YES! I do mean Old boy! ha! i knew that as well, whatever is the matter with you Lula
The only witch, or female magical character, that immediately springs to mind is the 'Good witch' from the Wizard of Oz but she's portrayed more as your fairy godmother type. I need to think harder about this..they do have to exist! Ooh, well we can include Veronica from The Sorcerer's Apprentice? Interestingly though, she was a 'sorceress'. How about Hermione and other female characters from Harry Potter? I guess the argument could be made that a film with a witch doing good deeds is less interesting to watch than one bristling with evil!
A movie of The Mists of Avalon would be
Failing that... Come on Meg let's knock up a script together!
New to me too Lady True! Wow...Joan Allen looks powerful in the Morgause role... Face/Off will never seem the same way again! I can't work out if this was American tv ?! But it is available on dvd! Maybe we should begin a thread in the artistic chamber for any and all arthurian or Merlinian related tv and film!
Lol! Yes! I can soooo see that Sprocket! but I love Vincent Price in The Fall of The House of Usher..though it's been donkeys years since i watched it..love him generally, would love to see Nic in a Vincent Price-esque type role...horror but not taking itself too very seriously!
