Eddie in 'Deadfall' has to be up there at the top-o-the-list!?!

Vampire's Kiss also features highly furious.gif but Peter Loew, however 'crazy' he increasingly becomes....it is anchored in the context of psychological meltdown... What I find fascinating with Eddie is whole mannerisms are just like full on unhinged from the start...the film is like looking at a naturalistic painting.. (the rest of the film) which has impressionistic colours playing over the on top. My brother did an opposite type of painting once..massive it was.... we had to roll the canvas out on the driveway to fully see it..the large part of it was completely abstract... just painting a mood..but in the corner was this very minute section of a beautiful young green forest with a waterfall. The waterfall part people got a handle on, because it was giving them what they considered to be a reflection of reality..they would say why didn't you make that the whole painting? Because the rest of it made them feel uncomfortable..it wasn't neatly presented... they couldn't define it..it made them feel something...they couldn't see the freedom and energy of it!

I know I saw Deadfall years ago but all I remember is how much I laughed at David Caruso. I still like to tune into CSI Miami once and awhile for a good laugh. ( Sorry, David Caruso fans) Can't remember Nic at all.
I tihnk Castor might qualify.

Just saw Caruso shoot a hoop on CSI.......to me he is seriously a one dimensional actor.  Now....to what is Nic's most 'out of the box' performance????   Gawd.....I still can't decide.  I guess it really would have to be Eddie in Deadfall.  It's like he was let loose on his own personal acid trip with that one.  Well.....that and his cameo performance in SONNY.

lol, yes Castor Troy is definitely out of the box ! But possibly less so within the context of the film.. Unlike Eddie in Deadfall? flowerface

I think you might be thinking of 'Kiss of Death' with David Caruso? Nic plays Little Junior Brown, another quite interesting character...flowerface

Ooh yes White Fay... Acid Yellow! How about him next to Eddie...interesting!
And suddenly Fu Manchu also comes to mind!yellowflowergrin

Oops, my bad! I knew that too.  At least I knew he played Little Junior Brown, not Eddie in Kiss Of Death. I have not seen Deadfall yet.

Hmm, he was pretty out there in Bad Lieutenant.

I don't think he was  that 'out there' in BL except when he was obviously stoned on something.  Went with the character pretty well, if you ask me.   Or maybe I'm just used to 'out there' kinds of people?  LOL!

the car plates sound awesome ronnie! spaceship
And Lady T... make your own mind up on Deadfall..it still has it's place in my Nic collection!starsmile

Had forgotten the most recent addition to the 'out there' characters.... Mr Terence! And he has some things in common with Eddy too...the drugs come to mind!

The only movie I've been tempted to bin is Time To Kill..

I would have to say Nic's Best "out of the box" performance is Vampire's Kiss due to the fact that Peter Lowe was the character that helped Nic have the ability and confidence to take on roles like Eddie in Deadfall or Terrance McDounagh in BL.  Nic learned a lot at a young age by being so bold in Vampire's Kiss and was his craziest role.evileye

Vampire's Kiss is a fave of mine too clc! furious.gif outstanding and multidimensional performance from a very young actor. who, i would imagine, already had to have had a fair bit of confidence and a huge amount of bravery (and extreme amount of talent!) to create Peter Loew in the first place! But I agree it was in the beginnings of what I guess you could call Nic's experimental style, which there are echoes of later in his career. starry
