Just found this song on Youtube, a song for all the ladies, who have elegent and aristocraNIC temperament!

This song is adapted from a famous poetry written by Li Qingzhào, a pioneer poet of Subtle Faction, I'm always at a loss and wondering what is the best words with which to express how i feel about her poetry when I read them...

  【一剪梅】 李清照
To The Tune “Cutting a Flowering Plum Branch”

                                                  Li Ch'ing-chao (1081-1140)

Translated by Kenneth Rexroth (One Hundred Poems From the Chinese )

紅藕香殘玉簟秋

Red lotus incense fades on

The jeweled curtain. Autumn

Comes again.

輕解羅裳 獨上蘭舟

Gently I open

My silk dress and float alone

On the orchid boat.

雲中誰寄錦書來

Who can

Take a letter beyond the clouds?

雁字回時 月滿西樓

Only the wild geese come back

And write their ideograms

On the sky under the full

Moon that floods the West Chamber.

花自飄零水自流

Flower, after their kind, flutter

And scatter. Water after

Its mature, when split, at last

Gathers again in one place.

一種相思 兩處閒愁

Creatures of the same species

Long for each other. But we

Are far apart and I have

Grown learned in sorrow.

此情無計可消除

Nothing can make it dissolve

And go away.

才下眉頭 卻上心頭

One moment,

It is on my eyebrows.

The next, it weighs on my heart.

the moon(light) overflow her medieval boudoir before going down to the west, all sorts of feelings welling up and driving her to the point of insanity, it's still a long sleepless night pass with gloomy. the intense pain can only be briefly cured by a languishing letter from her sweetie, as "no herb will cure love"

I love the translation, Tues, it is so sad and beautiful. It is probably hard to translate something like that, written so many years ago. Do you have a link to her other poems?

I love all sorts of music!  From one spectrum to the other - I adore Classical to Classic Soul.  Take a Listen:

Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata (one of my favorite pieces)

Barbara Acklin - Love Makes a Woman (my all-time favorite classic soul tune)

I am jamming - HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These are some great pieces, and it is so nice to kow what other castle dwellers enjoy listening to! Thanks for sharing.

You have really diverse tastes, Florian, it's very interesting. Some I have never heard of, and some I really love too. I am going to listen to all of them but I have a feeling it would be better to wait till tomorrow to play some of them! In the meantime, listening to Frank made me very happy.

I have never heard the Barbara Acklin, Gina, I love it, that bluesy soul sound. Moonlight Sonata is one of my favourites too, it has a special meaning for me.

Thank you so much Lady T!  One of my favorite country  and heavy metal songs:

Redneck Woman - Gretchen Wilson

Nemesis - Arch Enemy

A bit extreme but enjoyable if you can stand the head banger action!

I like listening to all kinds of music too. I never could get into heavy metal though. Don't really understand it, I guess.

This is totally different, but got kind of a Tom Jones theme here. I love this version of Black Betty:

And this one has been covered by many, including Tom Jones, but I dig this Etta James version, the woman's version! You can imagine whomever you'd like to leave their hat on.biggrin

I am really vibing with you Lady T!!! LOL!!!!! I am loving the "Black Betty" choice! Both versions are very soulful!

I agree with you on the heavy metal. Most heavy metal can be extreme and over the top which is why I am selective with my heavy metal choices. You definitely have to, say, acquire a taste for banger music.

Oh, and Etta James, a true living legend.  She's been through so much.  I love her music!  My favorite Etta song is probably everybody's favorite!

At Last - Etta James

smile I do believe a breeze of Etta James waltzed through a N.Y. cafe. You could hang your hat on that.
