oooh excellent recommendation Dame Ragnelle! it's such great therapy to just let go of everything and laugh, I'm a lover of comedy! For the same reasons (drama and comedy) I'm a complete BBC Radio 4 head!
This looks like fun listening. If my laptop's wireless actually worked, I'd go into another room and listen while I was doing something. As it is.....I have to sit smack dab in the middle of the house with the kids walking thru all the time, the bird yammering away, the hamster wheel sounding like a jet taking off while going round and round and the tv in the family room blaring of some sports game.
If I tried to listen to it from where I have to sit, I think that I'd self combust from over stimulation. That or chaos would consume the family unit......

Then come enter the Castle sanctuary. We can stroll through the garden and enjoy the last of the late roses, while sipping our sweet mead and exchanging quiet words of wisdom and humour. Or, we can run giggling after our Knight if we happen to catch a glimpse of him. Either way, beats the hamster wheel.
Oooh Lady Trueheart, can I come along?? As you describe them, there are many secret spots in this abode, and you sound like the ideal guide to them...
Lula, I´ve become a BBC Radio7 nut. Only yesterday I was listening to this wonderful monologues by Alan Benett and was once again reminded of how well you British know how to tell a story. They are all little gems, but most especially the one entitled Lady of Letters. Spot on delivery by the actress, too. It´s worth listening:
LOL! Most definitely..... wandering the halls giggling like carefree young wenches or taking a stroll in the garden beats the cacophony of the hamster wheel going round and round......I'm game! Where shall we all meet up?

Well, the hidden staircase is always a good place to meet for private conversations, or maybe in the Great Hall to listen to the minstrels and work on our needlework as we chat.
Radio 7 is a wonderful thing to exist! Radio 3 also has its moments. Recently I caught a brilliant adaptation of B.S. Johnson's 'The Unfortunates'. It was first published as a book in a box, with the sections unbound, so you could rearrange the order of the novel as you like! For the adaptation the BBC have uploaded all the different parts online so you can listen to them in any order you choose, to stay close to the spirit of the book.
It's mostly read by Martin Freeman, who played Arthur Dent in the Hitchhikers Guide film and Tim in the British version of The Office!
