Oh wow... Thank you very much for sharing this.  This is most certainly strange and yes I have not heard this happening with any other actor either, and yes it does explain a lot. Even if Red Squad had me interested, even if only because the director was the person who brought the legendary 'Die Hard'  Strange, strange, strange.
