I knew it! I remember from his Twitter that he said 'no one puts daddy in the corner' and showed a picture of his suit and I could have sworn I saw him in the trailer at one point. Without expressing my personal opinions on Kick-Ass because of the forums rules, lets just say, I'm glad it didn't happen... in a way. He was still the best thing about that movie though. Too grim.
Thanks for the find!
I got some friends who will get a 'kick' out of this Thanks again!
edit: It had to be today of all days that you post this, Lady T, because todays movie is Kick-Ass!

Despite rumours suggesting he'd be included in the sequel for a cameo appearance, Kick-Ass star Nicolas Cage was ultimately absent from this year's Kick-Ass 2, but as you can see from the unused storyboards below (via KickAss2News), director Jeff Wadlow originally intended for Big Daddy to return, where he'd have offered some advice to Chloe Grace Moretz's teen assassin Hit-Girl as she recovered from the explosion during the funeral scene; click on the storyboards below for a larger view....
Kick-Ass, Hit Girl and Red Mist return for the follow-up to 2010's irreverent global hit: Kick-Ass 2. After Kick-Ass' (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) insane bravery inspires a new wave of self-made masked crusaders, led by the badass Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey), our hero joins them on patrol. When these amateur superheroes are hunted down by Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse)—reborn as The Mother F%&*^r—only the blade-wielding Hit Girl (Chloë Grace Moretz) can prevent their annihilation.
When we last saw junior assassin Hit Girl and young vigilante Kick-Ass, they were trying to live as normal teenagers Mindy and Dave. With graduation looming and uncertain what to do, Dave decides to start the world's first superhero team with Mindy. Unfortunately, when Mindy is busted for sneaking out as Hit Girl, she's forced to retire—leaving her to navigate the terrifying world of high-school mean girls on her own. With no one left to turn to, Dave joins forces with Justice Forever, run by a born-again ex-mobster named Colonel Stars and Stripes.
Just as they start to make a real difference on the streets, the world's first super villain, The Mother F%&*^r, assembles his own evil league and puts a plan in motion to make Kick-Ass and Hit Girl pay for what they did to his dad. But there's only one problem with his scheme: If you mess with one member of Justice Forever, you mess with them all. Kick-Ass 2 is set for release on DVD and Blu-ray on December 17th.
I agree about the spoiler parts you mention, although that scene with Big Daddy is terribly affecting, Nic was wonderful doing that, I thought. I think, although I haven't read it, that it is based on a graphic novel, so it must be a violent book. I didn't like the way a child is portrayed doing the things she did, but also I am against censorship, so I would never say it shouldn't have been done. Still, it certainly made me cringe when she is of matter of fact about those acts.
Some people I know thought he was funny in that scene and laughed at him but I thought it was just part of the character. I think some of the over top gun play was fine, the swear words she says and the way she just likes killing is a bit scary. Nicolas Cage is a bad father but I think that was the point of her character. The tonal shift of the movie bugs me the most.
IN RESPONSE TO THE WORLDS QUEST FOR NON-VIOLENCE, IT JUST ISN'T APPROPRIATE.
EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE JUSTIFIED, OR AT LEAST PROTECTED.
THIS MOVIE DOES NEITHER.
IN FACT, THE CHARACTERS DISBELIEF IN THEIR OWN STATE OF AFFAIRS, REALLY SHONE THROUGH.
I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A MUCH DARKER FILM, ABOUT THIS SUBJECT MATTER, PERSONALLY.
THIS FILM WAS FINE, AS A FICTIONAL TEENAGE MOVIE. AFTER ALL, KIDS SEE MORE VIOLENCE THAN THIS WITH EMOTIONAL CONTENT, SOMEWHERE ELSE, ALREADY, I'M CERTAIN.
AS IRRESPONSIBLE AS THAT SOUNDS.
I WOULD STILL LIKE TO SEE A SEQUEL.
Violence in movies is cathargic, I guess. Are you going to watch the sequel, Lady Lavish, without Nic? I am not sure if it is out or not yet, haven't really been paying attention to it. I will watch when it comes on dvd, to see what happens next.
VIOLENCE IS COMMUNICATION. LOOK HOW NELSON MANDELA IS PRAISED FOR HIS PAST VIOLENCE. BEYOND THIS, IT'S FANTASY. LOOK AT THE HIT SERIES LE FEM ME NIKITA. I DON'T KNOW, JUST FOR INSTANCE. EVERYONE WANTS TO FEEL VINDICATED, WHICH IS A PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. JUST LOOK AT THE MAN THAT INVENTED ELECTRICALLY MAGNETIZED LENSES AND LIGHT BEAMS FOR MICROSCOPES, THAT FINALLY RECEIVED A NOBEL PRIZE IN 1986, AFTER THE GERMAN REGIME IGNORED HIS RESEARCH, AND WORK. I DON'T IGNORE THAT KICK ASS WORKED FOR ME. AND MAYBE, IN A THEORIZED THIRD INSTALLMENT, SOMEONE LIKE JEAN CLAUDE VAN DAMME COULD PLAY A PEACEFUL WITNESS, WHO'S MERE PRESENCE, UNITES A NEIGHBORHOOD. SEE, NICK CAGE'S LEGACY LIVES ON, AS BIG DADDY. IT'S ONLY UNFORTUNATE FOR HIT GIRL, TO HAVE TO BE A VICTIM, OR PROVOKE THESE SITUATIONS, TO CARRY FORWARD THIS STORY LINE. NOTHING ELSE WOULD BE INTERESTING. A THOUGHT.
