Nicolas Caged pays homage to pal David Bowie

Here is a little tidbit about Nic. I love that Nic never stays with the comfort zone! Also, I love David Bowie, so couldn't resist posting this here! I can't help wondering about the major television drama, too, wonder what that would have been like?!

NICOLAS Cage says he owes his 33-year career in Hollywood to rock star pal David Bowie.

Cage claims he has Bowie to thank for his long career.

The actor, who has fronted more than 70 films since the 1980s, is still one of the highest-paid stars in the movie business.

And Cage, 49, told the Daily Star Sunday he is still at the top of his game after taking advice from chart-topper David years ago.

He said: “I feel like my longevity as an actor came from something David Bowie once told me.

“He said he never got comfortable with what he was doing.

“What I took from that was that I shouldn’t just do one thing that people like me for. I should just keep taking chances, go out of my comfort zone and try something new. ”

Cage shoots up to five films every year and is best known for Leaving Las Vegas.

Since talking to Bowie he has turned down big money offers to quit movies for a major telly drama.

I`m glad, that Nic likes to step out of his comfort zone! That way, I think, every movie he did and does becomes uNIC and brilliant! And, as Nic likes to say, he has ecclectic taste, he stays an ecclectNIC actor/performer, who is still excited an passionate for his work and every character he plays! And, his movies/characters never gets boring! Great find, Lady T.! :)

Even tho it would be great to see Nic everyone on a TV drama show, I don't think he should do it.  Nicolas is a BIG SCREEN MOVIE STAR.  An A-lister and I think TV would bring him down several notches.  Nic is on top of the game, a place where only a handful of people are.  He deserves to be and stay there.

Oh definitely agree with you about Nic, Royaltraveler, and I hope we will see many more big screen movies from Nic! I don't actually see television as a comedown, though, just a different type of media, with a huge viewer base. Lots of big stars do tv too, and yes, I know that sometimes it is as their on-screen careers wane. But Nic's is stlill burning brightly. Nevertheless, some quality stuff comes from television. I don't actually watch much tv, but if Nic was on, I'd be there with bells on!

I love Nic, & David Bowie,

bowsmiley,  but, I'm sure this is misquoted, as he has aforementioned practically the same, as a conversation with the legendary Miles Davis?!

hmm

Hmm, just noticed I didn't include a link for that article, sorry about that.

It is from the Daily Star, Lady L, which I don't think is a very repudiable source, so maybe it is a misquote. I just posted it because David Bowie! Although I can't find any quote from Nic about Miles Davis that is similar, just the thing about acting being like jazz, that Nic has said in a few interviews.
