Hey All....

It's been a.long time since I posted something to get Nicfans thinking and discussing anything but I thought this might be an interesting topic for all.

By now, most everyone has probably heard about the erotic novel hit called FIFTY SHADES OF GREY.  Heck!  It's seriously being touted as the sole reason there will be a baby boom 8 or 9 months from now....LOL!  Anyway....I finally started reading the novel and the lead male character Christian Grey, seems to me to be an updated version(with an erotic twist)  of the character Dorian Grey.   I always wanted to see Nic play the part of Dorian Grey.  He just struck me as the tortured soul type.

Anyhooo.....so here I was immersed in the book, getting all hot and bothered, and I thought to myself that I'd love to see Nic play the part!  LOL.......I mean....seriously there would be a myraid of pluses....to see Nic play this character on screen.  ;)   I, btw, would envision his character being similar to "Roger" in Gone In Sixty Seconds.

Anyway.......the more I thought about the idea the better I liked it, except for one small problem.  The character is written as a thirtyish man........

So my questions are thus .....has anyone else read the book?   And if so, can you see Nic in this role?  For myself.....I don't see why the character couldn't be an older man.  Hell.....Doesn't matter what age you are.  Oozing sexuality is sexy and we all know Nic can ooze sex, right?   LOL!

Man....I would so love to see Nic in this role!  And, if he could get the part, he'd be in a major HIT cuz when this book gets adapted to the big screen, every woman over the age of 18 will run off to see it on the silver screen!

Well....maybe not every woman....but I know I sure would!

Take care all!  Bonnie

I haven't read it, Fay, although I have read about it, and so I really can't comment much, except that I would definitely agree that Nic oozes sexuality! But I don't think I really had to say that anyway, did I?lol!

Just the other day I was re-reading The Picture of Dorian Gray and thought that it would have been great if Nic played Dorian like 15 or 20 years ago,he is such a complicated character, and, like you said, the tortured soul type.I guess it might have been interesting for Nic to play him.. Too bad it never happened.            Speaking about 50 Shades of Grey, I haven't read it and never heard of it before,I'm not a big fan of erotic novels. But now you made me want to read the book, just to check if I can see Nic in this role!

And by the way...I'm so glad to see you around again Fay White!

Hello Lady Fay! NICe to see you again! flowerface

There is such mass hysteria about these books that it automatically turns me off them, and I have not read them for that reason, it's like has the world never seen an erotic fiction before? or ever had an erotic fantasy themselves? but I have no doubt Nic would be excellent in this or any sensual male role.

An update on Zandalee would definitely go down well !! lips

Thanks Ladies for all the warm hellos and thoughts on this topic.

Lula.....I hadn't wanted to read the book for the exact same reason you mentioned...the mass hysteria surrounding it....and to tell you the truth I still haven't read it all but it is a quick read and the character of Grey really seems to be n updated version of how I always envisioned Dorian Grey to be under his cold exterior so for that fact, I find myself enjoying the book.  (Well.....the erotic parts are enjoyable too....lol)    Voodoo Child......Dorian Grey was always one of my favorite characters too.  I guess we're both drawn to the dark, brooding types, eh?   And dear Lady True.....if ya still work in a library, the book is worth picking up....if nothing else....for the description of some of Grey's darkest pecadillios!  LOL!

On my travels around the world wide web, I have seen this suggestion several times now, so it seems you are not alone in your penchant Lady Fay! flowerface
