Another Nic film retrospective, you can see the film line up at the link. It is a great line up and seems there is great interest in Nic's films these days!
Few actors have enjoyed the range of films that Nicolas Cage has appeared in – and few actors can match his acting range that seems to flow from a whisper to a scream, often within the same sentence. This series highlights Cage’s more extreme roles from his debut as a lead actor in VALLEY GIRL to his undeniably great performances in David Lynch’s WILD AT HEART and the Coen Brothers’ RAISING ARIZONA to his turn as over-the-top action star in CON-AIR and FACE/OFF , to his more recent scenery-chewing appearances in BAD LIEUTENANT and THE WICKER MAN . We’ve eschewed his lauded performances in films like Moonstruck and Leaving Las Vegas to focus on what we affectionately term the “Crazy Cage” movies and the results are wild, wonderful and unforgettable. Join us in celebrating this mercurial and versatile actor who has the power to literally force a film into being entertaining by his mere presence.
Wow good tastes, this is going to be a fantastic Nicolas Cage movie marathon, thanks for the great info Lady True!! Although people out of U.S.A. aren't unable to attend, or do we have any lucky members to go there? Let's just hope this event start out on a good note!!
I don't know whether it is good or not to put these 2 links here, or start 2 more thread, you know i have posted so much these days. Hope you dont mind Lady T. Good nighte!
I don't mind at all Tues, and I am happy you have been posting so much, I think it's great! The first one is in Canada, but too far for me to attend! The second link won't open for me though.
Your indulgence & kindness have been felt Lady T. Only JUST saw Lethbridge was not very far from Calgary, sorry. I so hope you'll be able to at least attend one event in sooner than later. The second one is in Raleigh, North Carolina, US.
Thank you, Tues, it certainly would be good to attend one. I don't even think we have any theatres here who do these kind of retrospects. alternative or art film theatres are lacking in Halifax lately.
I dunno about big cities, Lady T. but independent arthouses and cinemas where old classics can be found are like gold dust here too. Its always good to hear some people made those outdoor not-for-profit film events happen anyway. Have you ever watched a movie in the beautiful open air? Halifax looks like a wonderland in pics, there is no more great to know you live there.
We have a wonderful arthouse cinema in the cty where I live, unfortunately no Nicolas Cage retrospective (yet!)
Thank you for posting the other links Tues, the Lord Of War one deserves it's own topic methinks, and never worry about posting too much, your contributions are appreciated and thank you for keeping us up to date on these 2 !
Never watched a movie sitting outside Tues, which I think would be a wonderful thing. But we have drive-ins, where you sit in the car and watch the movie, they were popular when I was young and have made a comeback. Like the Fonz and Richie on Happy Days! (Am I dating myself, lol!)
It would be so great to experience any of them Lady T! 'Drive-ins theatres' is still a new word in my country, so you're certainly not dating yourself if you ask me (au contraire, I thought you were wise beyond your ages when I first came here)
It's a shame that they havent held a retrospective of Nic's works Lula, but pleasant surprise is always in store for us Alol, I tend to think I can talk the hind leg off a donkey, I thank you if that could be associated with contributions. Thank you so much!!
I'm one of those who mark off their life in events, not in years. I should have taken evasive action, when talking about something that may cause any misunderstanding. I apologise to you for any snub.
