Due to it's subject matter, 8MM is not the most comfortable of films to watch, but it is an amazing performance from Nic and one of my favourite movies from his filmography. This video contains clips from the movie, behind the scenes, and interviews with Nic, Joaquin Phoenix and director Joel Schumacher. Enjoy...
You know, this was one of the first movies that I watched of Nic's that I noticed something. In this movie, I noticed how exact, precise, meticulous and particular Nic was with his movements - how he handled the baby, how he handled the gun, his facial expressions when watching the snuff film. It was almost like he was aware of his movements that had been thought out.
I particularly enjoyed the pairing of Nic and Joaquin. Brilliant casting and directing on Joel's part. I think Joaquin is another one of those unsung cinematic geniuses.
Wow! 8 mm is really a thrilling movie, after seeing this I really want to watch it again! These behind the scene scenes are awesome, and Nic plays it great. :)
Thanks Tess for these pictures, they look good!
