Interesting Vanity Fair Comment on FRANK OR FRANCIS

Firstly, this is not new. But, I am itching to hear more on Frank Or Francis, since teh recent casting news and hearing it may begin shooting this month in Pittsburgh. So i went looking for info and came across this article.

http://www.vanityfair.com/online/oscars/2012/01/Will-Charlie-Kaufmans-New-Script-Destroy-Awards-Season

thought provoking comment:

"Frankly, Frank or Francis might be the ego mercy killing that Hollywood needs to shake itself out of an artistically ossifying sense of self-importance. Unlikely, but Frank or Francis makes one thing crystal clear: Charlie Kaufman reads entertainment bloggers."

and..anyone slightly reminded of  Nic as Charlie Kaufman in Adaptation?

"meanwhile, a washed-up comedian whose box-office-drawing days are behind him (Cage) begins a quest for meaning that sends him on a shame spiral of self-examination"

I think Frank or Francis will be the comeback Nicolas is in need of. The fact that Nic is playing a character that somewhat mirrors his career at its current state, may help Nicolas examine his own career respectively. Nic isn't washed up, but his Box-Office days are not what they once were. Granted GR:SOV has done okay, it isn't close to what the first GR did and it is a better film all around. I think Nicolas is really going to flesh out his character in Frank or Francis by going back to Method Acting again and the fact that the supporting cast will push Nic to his limits. Nic likes to be challenged I believe, but gets bored with sub par scripts, co stars and directors. Nicolas needs people to push him at times to be at his best. I think he will push himself to the breaking point and show us something amazing. CLC.

More details I don't think we had heard before. I was under the impression he was to play an actor, but maybe it is a comic actor. Regardless, I do look forward to this movie, it should be a thought-provoking movie to watch.
