According to Indiewire, at a recent BAFTA Screen Writers lecture,  

Quote:

"Kaufman revealed that ‘Frank or Francis’ is an all-out musical, not a film with musical elements, as had been previously reported. Kaufman said, “I always try to do something different, but I’m a person with a very specific existence and a very specific background… This thing that I just wrote that will hopefully get made is a musical, and I’ve never done that before, so I did it.”

This sounds glorious! I found his last film a little morose, so I hope this is spruced and giddy to the gills, even if it plays out a cynical vision of humanity!! Thanks for the news, Lula! :D

It's interesting when Kaufman said he hopes it gets made!  So, I'm assuming they haven't found sufficient production dollars for the project yet?

Nevertheless, I would LOVE to hear Nic sing!!!  He has an amazing voice and I'm glad Hollywood will finally feature his sort of in-the-closet talent!

This is indeed really stupendous news, Lula! I am thrilled at the idea of  Nic in this movie, what a treat it will be, and I am really hoping it all comes to fruition. It certainly sounded like it was a go in other news that was posted awhile ago, supposedly filming in Pittsburgh in early 2012, wasn't it?

The whole concept just sounds so cool!

"spruced to the giddy gills" sounds just darn dandy Sprocket! there will be some weight to it too, ia m sure, it won't be all lightness and fluff in it's entirety, maybe more of a grown up but scintillating satire, warbling it's way to our ears, sating our Nic cravings on so many levels!!! rolllaugh

Nicolas sure has got an amazing voice as we have heard on the many films where he has broken into song!!

I am really doubting that a project of this calibre, with these stars and such a renowned writer/ director, with such an epic premise, would NOT get green lit! so i am not even going there! besides, the anticipation irrespective of the outcome in itself sends me into all kinds of rapture!!! thud
