I love how one of the Coen's work on the Evil Dead obviously informs how they film the "ghost rider"! The camera surging forward really low to the ground.

interestig comparison sprocket , not wanting to go too far off topic are you referring to the original Ghost rider or the new one?

Sorry for the confusing phrasing... I meant how they film Randall Cob! As for The Evil Dead, Joel Coen was one of the editors!

If I recall, the biker dream was a premonition, at least that is how I remember it. I don't have the movie so couldn't watch it before the discussion today to refresh my memory. But I remember a feeling of dread and portent in the movie as it goes along, building up in Hi. I found that part scary.

HI tried hard, to appear honest, but his two "friends" made it really hard for him. But, luckily, he stayed out of this. So, they think, by kidnapping the "kidnapped" baby, after finding out the truth behind it, they could force him to join in the bankrobbery, they were planning. Instead, H.I. choosed the right side, and went after them, to get "his" baby back.

I love the shot of the baby on the road - very few shots manage to be so funny and so distressing all at once!

More of that good/bad confliction, Lula. The decent folks were nasty!

There are some really great performances in this movie, a lot of great character actors, John Goodman and The babies father coming to find right now.

John Goodman is just glorious in every Coens film! He can be so soft and so threatening all at once!

Yes, great performances. But, the scene, where the two jailbirds climp up the sewer, is really funny and disgusting, at the same time, for me.

Well,I'm not sure...he makes me think of the couple that came to Ed and H.I's house.I think,in some way they are their alter ego and anipodes at the same time...if that makes sense.I mean, they have a lot of children and I think for them it is quantity, not quality that matters. They don't take responsibilty of their kids, they're crossing the line of morality and so do Ed and HI but in another way...  Anyone noticed the tattoo on smalls's arm,mom didn't love me,or what does it say?Perhaps his parents crossed that moral line, too and we can see who he is, a fiend.
