Check out this awesome podcast that "explores the films and career of one Hollywood's most thought-provoking leading men, Nicolas Cage."

I have just listened to the Valley Girl Podcast, it is really very indepth, engaging, fun and thought provoking!

If you have not yet seen the film, a slight warning, there are lots of spoilers and there is an incredibly detailed storyline analysis here!

I listened to the Racing With The Moon one today, I enjoyed it, and it got a good score. It will be interesting to see if they keep it up and how the scores proceed along.

I will look forawrd to checkng it out Nate! Birdy was a film that Nic was not too comfortable , he referred toit once as "emotional vomit", in the sense that he was just completely open and ithin at htat time still quite deep in the method.. or perhaps that is a little bit of an exaggeration..like the tooth pulling without anaesthetic mythology. I mean he did have the teeth pulled, but he did have novocaine!

The result, from my point of view, was a a very powerful, authentic, ironically mature performance from a very young actor. starry

The CAGECAST! Podcast needs your help! If you are randomly reading this thread: the date is 10/10/2011 -- if you have seen the Boy in Blue, I would love some feedback to read on the show -- if you can get it in the next few days, you'll definitely read it on the air. Send in your thoughts or mp3 to feedback@cagecast.com -- thanks all!

Hi Nate! flowerface hmm.. not really sure I have much to say on The Boy In Blue, it is hard to look past the blindingly gorgeous buffness! (which Nic had to work really hard for apparently !) we saw early flashes of Cage brilliance in this film though! both humour and that kind of boldness he has as an actor. I am thinking particularly of the scene where he chases after Margaret (Cynthia Dale) and delivers an impassioned speech (shirt off? of course!) I guess I am also a sucker for a story about one individual overcoming injustice and bullying, he is not just a sports champion, in the end. starry

Has everyone seen The Boy in Blue (1986)? maybe we could post our thought and opinions on the movie here and I (or someone) could forward them altogether to Nate at Cagecast?

hopefully you will get some comments on your podcast, Iam going to listen to it tonight and maybe if anyone is up for a  group discussion we could chat about it here too?

Lol! you definitely didn't pull any punches in your review Cagecast! But I hope I have an open mind and am not one to say that any one of our opinions on any movie is the ultimate truth, it comes down to each person's experience. Talking of which....please feel free to chime in with your opinion of The Boy In Blue Cagealot family!

A big thank you to you Cagecast for the shout out to Cagealot Castle in your 'The boy in blue podcast', have to admit to blushing to the roots of my hair to hear my name and words mentioned, I am far less shy with the written word!

Back to The Boy In Blue...It is not the finest in the Cage library, but it does have it's redeeming features! Cagecast, I am guessing you were not the bleeding hearts as I was, cheering for Ned to overcome the bullies and class discrimination ? and I stand by my comment that there were early inklings of Cage brillance ! and he def had the cagerage moment don't you think? At the end of the day, who cares about the movie when you have that buff, tight, oiled bod, glistening in front of your very eyes................... thud

I am looking forward to your next review!

We want to be clear: WATCH THIS MOVIE! What it lacks in nuance, it makes up for in glistening pectoral muscles. Cage is in his "dopey" phase, but I do contend he's "lovably dopey". I have to admit also, I like it when stuffy Harvard boys get their comeuppances, as well as that no-nothing Trickett!
