These have convinced me once again what an artist Nic is.I mean an Artist in all ways.I've always known that of course,but these interviews give such an in-depth view of how Nic creates characters and what inspires him and what he wants to bring into the movies.This is just fantastic. I am so impressed...

And I love that part in the first video where Nic talks about 'something out there' that may help him act... I'm now guessing that Windtalkers might have been the start of Noveau ShamaNIC?!

Hi Voodoo child! I am glad so you enjoyed the videos, I was thrilled to find them today. They are all new to me, apart from the Adaptation one.  It really is a treat ot hear Nic talking at greater lengths about his roles, it really gives wonderful insight into him as an artist, and a depth which I have really only experienced in his dvd audio commentaries.

Your comments completely resonate with my own feelings from watching the interviews. The thing that struck me the most is how strong a spiritual focus Nic has, like a thread running through them all, even though they are years apart, for some reason this makes me very happy. I loved his synchronicities !

They are confirmation again of Nic's absolute dedication to the character, love how he talks about creating a  backstory even when there isn't one, in order to really submerge iln the motivations of the character. He (and other good actors) makes acting look easy. it so isn't.

It appears Nic met an earth angel while filming World Trade Center. that whole interview is so incredibly sincere and moving.

 

I can not believe I missed this forum. Nic is just awesome in interviews. I see Charlie Rose programming on all the time and refuse to watch because I've always found his interviewing style to be somewhat borrowing and intolerable.

I had no idea that he's had Cage on as many times is as posted here. I have a whole new respect for Mr. Rose.

I love how Nic said that he likes playing people with history and different culture. You're right Lula, Nic does come across as a person who truly cares about the story, the culture and most importantly, the people.
