I watched the remake of Arthur the other night, Helen Mirren was great. Which made me think of Dudley Moore, which made me think of 10, which made me think of this fabulous piece from a movie. That was the first time I had ever heard it and it really entralled me. I like to play it really loud when I am driving, and it is a great mood lifter too!  I may have posted it before in another music thread, but not here in soundtracks.

Clip from the movie, just the link in case some are easily offended.

Ah, that takes me back aT.... beautiful piece... seems fitting for the dance of romance in all it's forms!

this piece of music always reminds me of the famous ice skating champions from my childhood, Torville and Dean, this was the music to their winning routine at the 1984 olympics ! call me cheesy, but  I love ice skating!

Odd to me that ice-skating is considered cheesy, is it the costumes?  I always am amazed at what they do on ice, quite thrilling sometimes. I used to love watching skating, though I have not kept up with it of late years. That was a nice clip to post Lula, I remember that performance too.

I don't know Lady T! flowerface but I do feel like I have to be a little bit apologetic about liking ice skating! I think it is magical dancing on ice, they make it look effortless and elegant when actually it is a hugely athletic sport, like ballet.

Talking of ballet, the soundtrack for 'Mao's Last Dancer' by Christopher Gordon is exquisite

I know this is soooooooooo girly, but I loved the Sex and the City soundtrack.  My favorite track from the Cd was sung by academy award winning actress, Jennifer Hudson, titled "All Dressed Up in Love" Check it out!  Lets jam together!!!!

'Badlands' has a absolutely gorgeous, restive, beguiling soundtrack and includes music by Erik Satie, who I think it quite the genius anyway!

God, it has been years since I have seen that movie, Sprocket, an amazing movie, must be 40 years old or so. I think I would like to see it again, although maybe not, now that I think of it all.

It *is* an amazing film. I kind of wish every person's life could be retrospectively directed by Terrence Mallick! I think we'd live in a better, more understanding world. It's pretty astonishing that the film can feel almost non-judgement, considering its about a murder spree. I think Mallick understands how strange humans are, how they get caught up and that everone has their reasons, even when those reasons are warped and misguided. Which isn't to say that people don't do awful, awful things, but that it's better for everybody if we try to understasnd how these things come about and remember that even a human being who has fallen very far from what we want and desire a human being to be, is still a human being. I think Mallick understands that and there is a great and beautiful empathy in his work.

Bob Dylan - Times They are a-Changin'

I've told you this song could be seen as offensive

Those are great selections, Flo, you are right, real classics. The Rocky theme always makes me get up and jump around, lol!

Tues, I am a big Bob Dylan fan, I love this selection, although as far as I know it is not on a soundtrack. Though now I come to think of it, it probably is on some soundtrack somewhere. This song probably did offend some people at the time it was released, since it is kind of a political activist song. It's a great song though.

truly, it`s a great Bob Dylan song. Unfortunatly it doesn`t work on my computer, because the GEMA didn`t make it availible in Germany. But I know this song and I love it. Curiosly the YouTube-Songs work. They are very good soundtracks too.
