I so want to see Werner Herzog's 'Cave Of Forgotten Dreams'. Having been very moved by Encounters At The End Of The World, and now seeing this video, it will undoubtedly be an equally powerful, AWEsome experience...with the same kind of transcendent unfathomable quality!
That's amazing, I would like to see it too. It was filmed in 3-D to capture the effects that the artists got from the undulations of the walls. I have seen pics of the paintings before but to see it in the cave is breathtaking, all the stalactites in the opening shot! How lucky for us all that he got permission to fim there. 32,000 years!
He certainly has a very profound aura to him Lady True that materializes through speech and his artistry at putting images sound silence and words together in such a way, a true film maker i feel! (I have not always agreed with everything he has said though in interviews for example)'
I hope he found as many awe inspiring philosophers hidden away as he did in Encounters At The End Of The World..so deeply special that was for me. I have always been so into the 'wonder energy' I call it of the earth and cosmos, Herzog seems to give them their own voice in film. he lets them breathe. it is something you can tangibly feel. As he said, it is awe in it's truest sense, no need to say more. At the risk of sounding cliched, it seems everything he creates is a special experience to receive.
