KNOWING soundtrack, Beethoven and more

I am in a very Beethoven mood this week, and Beethovens 7th Symhony, Movement 2 was a main theme in 'Knowing.' What an incredibly perfect and moving piece of music for this apocalyptic movie, and I believe, it was Nic's choice.

Here is the piece as heard in the movie soundtrack

And for those interested, here is the whole piece in it's entirety sing.gif

Oh, lovely, thanks, Lula!

I must say Nic has good taste in music, this is a beautiful piece, and so fitting to the movie.  It is very beautiful sung too, known as Figlio Perduto.

wow.. she has such a pure sound, that was lovely thank you! and a very powerfully musical interpretation also flowerface the addition of the rhythmic track just annoys me a little though! lol!

For me I think music without the singing is sometimes far more powerful..somehow it is just the vibration of the notes...especailly in the case of Beethoven i just feel it can't be improved upon!

here is the main theme for Knowing.. when you listen like this it is very dark..i feel it is cleverly epic sc fi while maintaining a gravitas that grips you in the saem way as the film does when you realise the scale of what is happening...

Oh, when I hear a piece of music that has had lyrics written to go with it I usually think of it as a homage of sorts. Not so much that it is trying to improve on it but rather use it as an impetus to new creativity. See how the music of Beethoven has been altered to fit the movie in the main theme you have posted here (altered is probably not the correct wording), it suits the theme and sounds wonderful, but it doesn't try to improve on the original, rather it branched from it. I think maybe all art can be used and fused with other creative processes or ideas without adulterating the beautiful original.

I love both music and song and would find it hard to choose, it depends really on my mood as to what I want, I guess.
