PARADISE LOST by John Milton

One cannot help but see the connections between Nic's latest movie and this epic poem, probably one of the most famous ( and longest! ) of the english language.
'Paradise Lost' was written by John Milton (seeing the connection already?) in 1667, and tells of the biblical story of Eden and 'the Fall,' and Adam and Eve's exit from 'Paradise'.(and much more besides!)

There are depictions of Heaven and Hell, and the eternal battle between 'God' and the angels and 'satan'.. And the battle of god's will and free will.
It is also about fallen angels, who became the ranks of satan, himself the ultimate fallen angel,  depicted perhaps as the ultimate anti hero.

So with the fallen angels one thinks maybe of both Milton (an avenging angel?) and the Accountant. There is also a  'council' of hell, perhaps a link with the organization of hell alluded to in Drive Angry?

I am thinking of Ghost Rider in association with this poem and the fallen angels  also.

Anyway, if anyone is so inclined and has the time, here is the poem in it's entirety, though as usual I have to say this is no substitute for holding and reading a book version !

This is chapter 1
