So cool to see Nic standing in front of the beautiful images we were looking at a couple of weeks ago. this film may be going a lot darker, but it is going to have some stunning scenery!!! wow2

and I don't know about you my friends..... but to me Johnny Blaze is looking damn HOT!!! flamingyummyyummy

From what I can tell from the translation, it sounds like the Governor, Chief of Police visited the set?

lol yeah.....and how cool that we will get to see this beautiful location in the movie...and the stunning Corvin Castle...that way we get to experience these wonders vicariously! stars

Nic mentioned in a Season of the Witch interview that the film is like a travelogue... ahaaa! I have now sussed out Nic's hidden agenda, he is a clandestine natural history presenter!! biggrin.gifthumbsup.gif and what better way to bring us closer to the wonders of the world than in the context of an enthralling movie!

I wonder where Nic will take us next in the third National treasure for example?action

yeah Ithink the temps over there are about the same or a bit lower than the uk at the moment around 3 to 7 degrees daytime temps? not exactly warm!!

Cage, his family visited the movie set in Pamukkale


Ghost Rider 2' chief film actor Nicolas Cage to shoot movie set to come in Denizli Pamukkale Ancient Pool toured and examined the preparations. His wife, Alice Kim and Nicolas Cage's son Kal-El during the visit with Coppolo, members of the press was not allowed to take the image. On the other hand, "Ghost Rider 2" the final scenes of the film to begin shooting today and said the study will last 10 days. Use of motorcycle stunt work had begun in the final stages. Cage, the day before the film crew came to 220 persons in Denizli, Collossae Hotel at King's apartment were located in the 3-storey.


PAMUKKALE - TURKEY

The strange and weirdly beautiful terraced pools of Pamukkale have been appreciated for over two millennia and yet still remain a little known wonder of the world.  Thousands of years ago earthquakes, which are common in Turkey, created fractures that allowed powerful hot springs to bring water rich in calcium carbonate to the surface. As the water evaporated the chalky material condensed and formed layer-upon-layer of Travertine and thus slowly built up the walls over time in the same way that a stalactite forms in a cave.  Apparently Pammakale means Castle of Cotton but the Greco-Romans built a town above it called Heirapolis – meaning “Holy City” or “Sacred City”. They too recognised it as a rare and important place attributing healing powers to the milky-white waters.

Pamukkale is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the pools have been closed to the tourists that once bathed in their waters to save them from further damage.

I had forgotten about that ruin that they climb, that should be something to see in the finished movie. I don't know why I think this; maybe I read it; but I think it is near the climax of the movie when we see it.
I just the other day read a translation of an article from Turkey which quoted Nic talking about the effect the area had upon him, and now I can't find it. Anyone see it? I think it was in a google alert that I saw it.

Cage: Well, the locations definitely were a character in the movie and also contributing to the energy of the performance for all of us. Turkey was a landscape I had not seen before, nothing like it. These spires of rock, with carved out areas of windows without glass where people would live 10,000 years ago in the Byzantine Empire. You’re overwhelmed by the alien appearance of it and at the same time, the idea that people were actually living in these places; it’s just so ancient.

this is the actual quote:
