She woke at dawn, something within her knew the light was changing before it reached her eyes. Perhaps it was the spirit within her, having endured one thousand endless nights imprisoned by the grim hold of darkness, unable to imagine not celebrating another glorious moment of light now she was free.

Softly turning, she watched him sleeping... as she had taken to doing in a silent ritual of morning wonder and joy... her eyes slowly taking him in in delicious meditation.. the curve of the lips that had spoken to her heart and caressed her with a thousand kisses since her return and yet betrayed an unspoken pain in all that was left unsaid, all the more when the language of eyes - and oh how those eyes reached beyond all depths of space and time within her with an instant and exultant magic beyond any spell that could ever be conjured - was temporarily silenced by the soft veil of eyelids now being bathed by the gentle morning light, playing on his lashes with a gold that reminded her of the warmth and childlike delight of yesterday, their first Christmas day together for a thousand years.

Lula, this is beautiful!  In fact, this entire section of "The Sorcerer's Chamber" is quite enchanting... I'll have to spend more time here!!

Lula, I've heard the phrase before, but what is "Boxing Day?"  And why is it named as such??

You don't have Boxing Day in America, Gina? please excuse my ignorance! it is the day after christmas day, I believe thus called because traditionally that was the day when the presents were opened/ unboxed!

I didn`t know that, too. Thank you, Lula, for the explanation. :) Although, the 26th of December is a day off for workers here in Germany, we don`t have such a name for that day. It`s just the second day of christmas.

We call it Boxing Day here too, I think it is a Commonwealth thing. I remember reading something about it traditionally being the day the lords of the manor would receive their loyal serfs and gifting them with a Christmas meal and maybe money, not sure of that though. Of course nowadays here in Canada it is just a day to grab up all the after-Christmas shopping sales. I never go, it is horrendous in the malls then. Probably something like your Black Friday, Gina.

Of course, being locked in an urn, is a very cold world. With lots of walls, in an endless array, always in front of your face, with, no escape.

So, being with the one she loves now, everybreath matters- as if it could be taken away

by a sinister plot, full of jealousy. But, who, could gain? No one is in love with or entitled to the source of this heart- she thinks.... Looking out a window covered in ice, feathers taking up the melody of the icicles in the frozen branches outside- talking to her with tingling whispers,

"No one can replace your love"

She listens. Her finger tips grace across his lips, his sleeping chest

her caress doesn't awaken him-- the way she desires to stir his soulful rest.

Lavish

Ahhhh... Thanks so much for the explanation of "Boxing Day" Lula and Lady T.

We don't have a Boxing Day here in America... our Black Friday usually happens the day after Thanksgiving which just means major sales at all of the stores.

But we don't have a name for the day after Christmas... It's funny, while listening to one of my Harry Potter audio tapes, I think, it was "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire"... they referenced "Boxing Day"... And what's hilarious - I still didn't understand - LOL!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks again!!!

oohh.. this is wonderful Lady Lavish...thank you for picking the baton and continuing the story! hopefully it will encourage others to continue!!! starry

Our boxing day conversation here has been most enlightening, just to clarify, I was talking about the tradition and where the name came from, people in the uk no longer open their presents on 'Boxing day' and of course, different people have different ways of celebrating christmas! stars

But, she doesn`t dare to wake him! After one thousand years of searching for and training the Prime Merlinian for the final, ultimate showdown of the Merlinians vs the Morganians, fighting dark sorcerers, wherever he could, trapping them in the grimhold, which was her home, since she performed the "fusion spell" to protect him, her love! He, even, wanted to sacrifice himself for her, as she did for him a Millenium ago! So, she decides to sneak out of the warm bed, covering herself with a warm cloak, she took from a nearby chair, lighting the fireplace with a simple spell, sitting herself in the armchair, that were located in the corner of the room, touching the beautiful necklace, he presented her, after the battle was won, and the good prevailed, continuing watching her loved one, resting under the warm planket!....

While she was watching him, there was a movement! Slowly, Balthazar woke up, after a pretty long, but well deserved sleep. He turned his head towards his beloved Veronica, his one true love: "Good morning, my love!" he said with a brought grin on his beautiful face, as he saw her smiling back at him! "Good morning, my sweet! Did you sleep well?" she replied! "Very well, my dear! I had a magNICal dream of you!" he answered with an even broader grin!...

"Do you want to tell me about it, my love?" she replied! Before he could answer, a grouling, that sounded like a wolfs houl, was heard deep inside him, located around his stomach: a mighty hunger, as, since the sandwich, he grabbed from Dave`s bag, while they were sitting on the bank together, he hasn`t eaten very much since then! Veronica heard that grouwl, too, and both laughed about the funny sound! "How about, we are making breakfast first," she offered, "and, then you can tell me about your dream!" "That would be magical!" he replied....
