Oh, that's really pretty, I love this pic because of the gorgeous blue, and now you have enhanced it even more. Ah, you are the blue butterfly lady, aren't you?
Am I Lady True? I wasn't aware of it but happy to be so.....I do love blue butterflies! glad you like it......not sure what I had in mind other than artistic evolution!
Yes indeed, Faery Queen, you have the prettiest blue shimmering wings I have ever seen! In my mind that is what I see, anyway. Didn't you know?
Those blue and brown colours make that picture so beautiful. What is the origins of this pic, do you know? From a magazine, maybe? I was wondering about the butterfly case behind him, if it is a piece of art or if they are really mounted butterflies. Lovely to look at anyway.
Once when my daughter was small we went to a park to hike and we saw a mass of orange colour in a grassy ditch by the trees. We thought it was flowers and went to look, and there were literally hundreds of monarch butterflies lying there, it was so special and wonderful to see! I suppose they were in their migration cycle and stopped there en masse to rest. They fly some 3,000 miles from Nova Scotia to Mexico. Amazing! Do you have monarch butterflies in Britain?
lol...I had no idea Lady True! Because they are behind me I cannot see them...though in my minds eye they appear purple irridescent but in a certain light you may be right! Wow....that sounds like such a precious experience you had with your daughter and the butterflies meg, so special!
Well, I don't think the monarch butterfly is meant to reach this part of the world but does on the rare occasion ! I'm no expert and think there is some debate as to how..but they have been spotted on the south west coast apparently (my dad occasionally updates me on things like this!) perhaps coming on ships or on the atlantic winds. But the whole migration of butterflies is fascinating subject, how they navigate and so on.
Oh and I think I recall, unless it was a dream, this photo appearing in a magazine and it is a shot of one of his houses, and here he is sitting at the top of the stairs. I adore the wallpaper!
I remember now the creative impetus behind this. To me the butterfly represents metamorphosis, transformation, the blossoming of expanded consciousness as it emerges from the crysalis....but also it symbolizes for me unbounded freedom and infinity. So there are levels here...in the picture behind him, the butterflies are encaged..perhaps the way Nic himself might be within his house...it also represents the restriction of the imagination so i liberated them...for it seems nic is a creative with infinite potential, an intelligence and consciousness which cannot and should not be contained...and he has made moves into areas that could be considered more spiritual or positive and perhaps on my part a projection on wanting him to be free of the restrictions of fame...at the same time a positive rememberance that whatever the physical limitation on our freedoms there is nothing that can withhold the flight of the spirit and the imagination!
