Lula, you mentioned reicarnation in one of your posts...

I don´t believe in it, but I own that it´s a very poetic concept... This novella, Forever by Mildred Cram (only 60 pages) is about that, the poetry of reincarnation.

Unfortunately it´s out of print... I found it in a second-hand bookstore. It´s a little gem. Two lovers who manage to meet over and over again through their successive reincarnations... It´s not affected or sentinmental or prissy in any way... I highly recommend this book if you happen to find an old copy somewhere...It´s really something, despite its simplicity (or rather because of it).

Hello dear Dame Ragnelle! flowerface
Ever a joy to read you!

Thank you for the recommendation, madly enough, you are the second person who has mentioned this book to me in the past two months! (jawdrop.gif) so the Universe is definitely trying to tell me something!

You are familiar with her work? For me I know very little about her, but one of my many favourite quotes has sometimes been attributed to her:

To be innocent is natural, but to die pure of heart - that's a gift

For the record, I'm not sure what I believe, or don't believe, about reincarnation......i tend to not have any 'beliefs'.... but I have an inner knowing through direct experience, there is more than the material physical world. For me, my sense of eternal is actually beyond lifetimes, ever present, beyond space and time! lotus

Lula, maybe the cosmos has a preconceived notion to tell you something... for me, skeptical as I am, it´s rather a mere coincidence. But if you´re really curious about the book... well, I can do a very naughty thing and try and scan it for you. It´s only 60 pages after all. I´ll take the thing to the office and you´ll have it in your private inbox sometime this week, courtesy of PwC, unsuspecting patron of the arts, hehehe.... Obviously I won´t be attaching it here out of copyright infrigement. But the book is out of print since like forever... unintended pun BTW.

As for Mildred Cram, thi is all I know about the lady: she was very popular in, of all places, Hollywood. During their Golden Age, they made some movies based on her stories. Love Affair was particularly successful. It was later remade as An Affair to Remember. Seems she was good at romantic stories, huh? I wasn´t a sentimental body before, but as I grow older I´m becoming a sucker for this kind of old-fashioned tales full of unrealistic settings and good intentions and white lies and glamorous lovers... aaah you only have to wait to grow older to see how you contradict yourself! Isn´t life amusing!

How did I miss this thread before?  I'm a firm believer in Reincarnation and in the golden cords of love that bind us from lifetime to lifetime.  I just have to get this book!  Amazon, here I come!
