Nicolas Cage co-founded his production company, Saturn Films, with his partner, Jeff Levine, in 1999. Since then, Saturn has been the creative force behind some very interesting work, the first being Shadow of the Vampire (2000), a "what-if?" fantasy about the making of F.W. Murnau's classic silent horror film, Nosferatu. Since then, Saturn Films has maintained a successful balance between mainstream fare such as Next and the National Treasure movies and more independent-minded projects such as Lord of War and Nicolas Cage's directorial debut, Sonny.
