I have been doing a bit of a Johnny Blaze this morning, he listens to Karen Carpenter singing 'to keep the evil forces at bay' in Ghost Rider! The Carpenters are such a legendary musical phenomenon, they really deserve their own Thread! karen Carpenter has such a uniquely special beauitiful voice and their music is so sweetly melancholic. what is your favourite song? This is a pretty song. I was never really into the Carpenters, too sweet for me then, though I remember them in their hayday very well. They were always on tv, all the variety shows. And constantly played on the radio, they were incredibly popular. She was a very talented drummer too. Her voice is like velvet, isn't it? __________________

I hope your husband is comforted by the legacy Karen Carpenter left behind Lady Fay...., she was such a strong vibrant spirit and that lives on! All her songs have that incredibly tragic element to them though becuase of her passsing, and they are filled with her own melancholy.... yes, I love that she was a drummer too Lady true! and her voice was such a pure sound....I can see why Johnny Blaze would play her songs to keep dark forces at bay, but I would not say the songs are without their own pain. I reserve a special place in my affections for The Carpenters. Their presence in my childhood and the soulful strength of Karen's voice gives them a transportative effect even now. __________________

Another beautiful Carpenters classic Lady Lavish! and one I have been playing on my guitar and attempting to sing in the past few days! By the way, I am not quite sure what you were meaning in your previous comments on Karen Carpenter, but I alwas felt that Nic and the filmmakers were showing the utmost respect to her and her music in the movie, the idea being that she was the most angelic voice that would keep dark forces at bay. __________________
